Curt Teague - Guide
Curt Teague is the owner and lead wilderness expert at HikeMore Adventures. He is Backcountry Wilderness Survival Instructor Certified, Wilderness First Aid and AED First Responder, and adult, pediatric, and infant CPR certified. He specializes in fire building methods, knife handling, shelter building, tool making, campfire cooking, water purification methods, and backcountry fishing.
Curt discovered his love for all things outdoors as a child raised in the piedmont of North Carolina. He developed a passion for fishing, camping, and rock climbing at an early age. Upon graduating from high school he attended and graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC with a B.S. in Business Marketing and Communication Advertising. He went on to extend his specialized education in Wilderness Skills at SOLO Wilderness College in Natahala Gorge, NC.
Curt is also a tenured farmer. He owned and operated a working farm that inlcuded raising beef, pork, chicken, vegetables, and wine. He incorporates this love of living off the land into his wilderness survival courses.
Curt now lives with his wife, Kerri, and two sons, Hank and King. They enjoy spending time outdoors as a family all around The Pisgah National Forest--from hiking to skiing to rock climbing, you are sure to catch this outdoor family having fun and enjoying life.
Bob Hampton - Astronomer
Bob has been passionate about the night sky for decades. He is the President and Founder of the Blue Ridge Astronomy Group (BRAG) and the director of the Blue Ridge Public Observatory, a new facilty with plans to open in July 2016. If it is dark out you can find Bob behind one of his many telescopes looking up at the night sky. Bob offers an indepth tour of our galaxy and beyond with a 6 foot telescope at one of our wilderness dark sky viewing areas. He offers a wealth of knowledge for his clients, you will walk away with a better understanding of our universe and be left with details that fascinate you.
